Absolutely Best Brownies

1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup self-rising flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an
8×8 or 9×9 inch baking pan.

In a medium bowl, beat together the butter and sugar. Add eggs, and mix well. Combine the flour, cocoa and salt; stir into the sugar mixture. Mix in the vanilla and stir in walnuts if desired. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are firm. Cool before cutting into squares

Quick and Easy Brownies

2 cups white sugar
1 cup butter
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup walnut halves

Melt the butter or margarine and mix all ingredients in the order given. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 to 30 minutes in a 9 x 13 inch greased pan

Easy Fudge Brownies

2/3 cup shortening
2 tablespoons unsweetened
cocoa powder
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.

Melt shortening and cocoa in the top of a double boiler over low heat. Stir occasionally until shortening is melted. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla until well blended. Slowly add in flour and mix well. Spread batter evenly in pan.

Bake 18 to 20 minutes, until toothpick inserted in the center of brownies comes out clean. Let cool before cutting
